Swinomish Northern Lights Casino
The Swinomish Northern Lights Casino is located in Anacortes, Washington, about 70 miles north of Seattle.
Tribal Community
The 73,000 square-foot casino is operated by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, a group of Coast Salish Native American tribes that includes the Samish, Kikiallus, Lower Skagit and aboriginal Swinomish tribes. The tribal community has a population of about 800.
Water is important to the people of the 7,100-acre Swinomish Reservation. The bays and inlets that border the Swinomish Reservation have served as home for shellfish and salmon; while wildlife, shellfish and salmon are less abundant now, fishing still plays an important role in the economy and culture of Swinomish Tribal Members. The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is actively working with other Native American communities in the northwest to restore natural habitats and bring back dwindling wildlife populations.
The Swinomish Northern Lights Casino offers a large selection of table games, including roulette, blackjack, and craps. The casino offers 10x odds, which acts as a real draw for fans of the game. Three-card poker and pai gow poker are offered as well.
Texas Hold 'Em
There is also Texas hold 'em bonus, in which each player uses a two-card hand along with three, four or all of the five community cards to make the best poker hand against the dealer. The casino features no-limit Texas hold 'em each night. A player's buy-in may range from $10 to $60. Players may also try 3-6 and 4-8 limit Texas hold 'em with and without a "Kill" button in the casino's spacious poker room.
Simulcast Racing
The Starlight Lounge features an off-track betting lounge, which carries live simulcast racing on four screens from tracks located across the country. Patrons can also wager on feature races like the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes. Race post times are at noon Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and at 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Keno
Patrons in the Keno Lounge can take advantage of regular keno, as well as 20 spot keno and catch-all keno. Multi-race keno gives players the opportunity to select numbers for up to 20 consecutive games. There is also a non-smoking keno room.
The facility opens at 11 a.m. and stays open until 4 a.m. on weekdays, and until 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. There are two restaurants on the grounds. |
